  • Email: Enter your email address in the "Email" field.

4- Accept Terms of Use: Check the box to agree to the University of Ottawa's terms of use.

Verify Account Details: Upon successful registration  you should see a confirmation page similar to the image below . This page confirms the username assigned to you and shows the start and expiration times of your Wi-Fi access.

6-Connect: Click on the "Connect" button to access the internet.
7-Redirection to uOttawa Webpage: After connecting, you should be automatically redirected to the uOttawa webpage.

During Connection Period:

  • Disconnect and Reconnect: Once registered, you can disconnect and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network during the validity period of your access without needing to go through the registration process again, as long as you are using the same device (MAC address).

Important Tip: Check for MAC Randomization. Before connecting to the Wi-Fi, ensure that MAC randomization is disabled on your device. MAC randomization is a privacy feature that changes your device’s MAC address periodically, which can prevent consistent network access on networks that authenticate devices based on MAC addresses. If MAC randomization is enabled, your device may appear as a new device each time it connects, thus forcing you to register again for Wi-Fi access.
To disable MAC randomization:

  • On Android: Go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi preferences > Advanced > Privacy, and select "Use device MAC".
  • On iOS: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the information icon next to the network name, and disable "Private Address".
