Canada/China Housing Workshop

Dear ICCCASU participants,

I am delighted to extend an invitation to you all for ICCCASU upcoming event, the Canada/China Housing Workshop. The workshop is scheduled to take place on next Friday, June 7th, 2024, at FSS4007, uOttawa, starting at 8:30 AM. Attached, you will find the workshop program for your reference.

Supported by SSHRC, this one-day workshop aims to facilitate dialogue between Canada and China regarding various housing-related issues. We anticipate the participation of approximately 15 experts, scholars, and policymakers from both countries. Topics for discussion include housing supply, access, affordability, financing mechanisms, construction methods, geographical distribution, and governmental interventions to address market challenges. Despite differing economic and political landscapes, both countries heavily rely on the private sector for housing production and development for urban infrastructure financing. Through comparative analysis, the workshop seeks to explore common challenges, policies, strategies, and successful models.
